How to Create and Manage Your Mode Earn Account

You can sign up for the Mode Earn App using Google, email, or phone number (US users only). This article walks through each signup method and answers common questions about account rules.

Before you start: account rules

To keep the Mode Earn App fair for everyone, a few rules apply to every account:

  • One account per device is recommended. Multiple accounts on one device can trigger fraud prevention and may result in account restrictions.
  • Each account requires a unique phone number. You cannot reuse the same phone number across accounts — even if you delete an old account, the number stays on file to prevent abuse.
  • Each account requires a unique email address. If you see an "Email Already in Use" message during signup, see Resolving Account Errors in the Mode Earn App.
  • No VoIP numbers. Only real mobile phone numbers work for verification.
  • Don't switch devices frequently while logged in — it can trigger fraud prevention.

Option 1: Sign up with Google (recommended)

Google signup is the fastest method — no password to remember, and verification is handled by Google.

  1. Open the Mode Earn App on your device.
  2. Tap Continue with Google.
  3. If you're already signed in to Google on your device, select your Google account from the list.
  4. If not, enter your Google credentials when prompted.
  5. You're signed in and can start using the app immediately.

If you sign up with Google, you cannot change your email address from inside the app later. If you need to change it, contact Mode Support (Settings → Ask for Support).

Option 2: Sign up with email

  1. Open the Mode Earn App.
  2. Tap Continue with Email.
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Create a secure password.
  5. Tap Continue.
  6. Open the confirmation email sent to your address and click the verification link to finalize registration.

Tips for a secure password:

  • At least 8 characters.
  • Mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Unique to Mode — don't reuse a password from another service.

Option 3: Sign up with phone number (US users only)

  1. Open the Mode Earn App.
  2. Tap Continue with Phone.
  3. Enter your mobile phone number.
  4. Tap Continue to receive a one-time password (OTP) via SMS.
  5. Enter the OTP code from the SMS.
  6. Tap Verify to complete registration.

Which method should I use?

Households and multiple devices

Multiple accounts within the same household are allowed, but each must have its own device:

  • ✅ Two household members, each with their own phone and their own account — allowed.
  • ✅ Two household members, each with a tablet and a phone (one account per device) — allowed.
  • ❌ Two accounts on the same phone, switching between them — not recommended and may trigger fraud prevention.

If you need to switch devices: log out of the app on your old device first, then install the Mode Earn App on your new device and sign in with your original credentials.

PayPal account linking

As of 2026, each PayPal email can be linked to a maximum of 2 Mode accounts. See PayPal Linking Limit — What You Need to Know for details.

Why these rules exist

Mode monitors accounts to maintain a fair rewards environment. These rules help reduce abuse and duplicate redemptions, protect legitimate users from having their rewards diluted by fraud, and keep the rewards program sustainable.
