Welcome to the Mode Earn App! This guide walks you through the main features, every way to earn points, and tips to get the most out of the app. After this article, you can dive deeper into any specific feature using the links throughout.

If you're brand new, start here

Kickstarter Missions are a set of guided tasks designed to get you to your first $0.50 reward within 24 hours of signup. If you just signed up, look for the Kickstarter banner on your Home screen and tap it. See Kickstarter Missions: Your Fast Track to First Rewards.

The Home screen

The Home screen is your one-stop hub for all earning activities. At the top, you'll see your point balance, Music Earning Time, and profile icon. Below that, access cards for every earning method, daily streaks, and redemption goals. For a detailed walkthrough, see Guide to Navigating our Home Screen.

Your Wallet and Transaction History

Tap the coin icon at the top of the app to open your Wallet. Here you can:

  • See your full point balance.
  • Review your Earning History (all points you've gained, by source).
  • Review your Redeemed history (every redemption with codes and order details).

Ways to earn points

Listen to music

  • Background listening. Keep music playing while you work, commute, or relax. Points accumulate as you listen.
  • Playlists and stations. Explore curated playlists and trending stations to discover new music while earning.
  • Time Bank. Your music earning depends on minutes available in your Time Bank. Complete Boosters to replenish it faster, or wait for daily auto-replenishment.

Play games

  • Points per minute. Each game card shows how much you can earn. Some games pay per minute, others every few minutes, up to a total cap.
  • Check the Games tab. Multiple offerwalls give you access to different kinds of games and partners.
  • Stack with music. Play music in the background while gaming to earn from both activities simultaneously.

Complete offers and tasks

  • Offerwalls. Download apps, complete surveys, try free trials, or complete other in-app tasks for points.
  • Track your progress. Check the In Progress and Completed tabs in the Offers section to monitor offer status.
  • Check eligibility before starting. Some offers require you to be a new user or meet other criteria. Review requirements before investing time.

Take surveys

Surveys pay some of the highest point values in the app. See Maximize Your Earnings with Surveys.

Read news and watch videos

Passive earning: Charge Screen and Lock Screen

Enable these in Settings to earn points while your phone is charging or being unlocked throughout the day. See Charge Screen Feature and Lock Screen Feature.

Shopping (US only)

Cashback on online purchases and receipt scanning on in-store buys. See Earn Points by Shopping: Cash Back and Earn Points by Shopping: Receipt Scanning.

Refer friends

  • Share your referral link. Each friend who signs up with your link and plays a Trending Game earns points for both of you.
  • Ongoing bonus. You earn 3% of your friend's gaming rewards for as long as they stay active.
  • Track in Transaction History. Both sides can see when referral points post.

Daily and Kickstarter Missions

  • Kickstarter Missions — guided tasks for new users to reach the first $0.50 reward in 24 hours.
  • Daily Missions and Check-In Streaks — rewards for consistent engagement over time.

Tips to maximize your earnings

Stack activities

The single biggest way to boost your earnings is stacking — doing two or more earning activities at once. Music runs passively, so it pairs with everything:

  • Music + News: turn on a radio station while you read news articles. Both earn simultaneously.
  • Music + Charging: play music while your phone charges on the Charge Screen.
  • Music + Games: keep background music playing while you play a game.
  • Music + anything else. Once started, music earns in the background.

Complete Boosters regularly

Boosters top up your Music Time Bank and unlock high-payout activities. Check the Boosters tab daily for new ones. See Boosters: Quick vs High Payout.

Check your Earning Plan

Your Earning Plan (accessible from your profile) shows personalized challenges and bonuses based on your activity. Completing them adds bonus points on top of what you'd normally earn.

Watch for Point Doubling

Some earning activities are eligible for point doubling — check your Transaction History for any entries with a double-up button. Tapping it watches a short video in exchange for double the points.

Use the Daily Streak

Logging into the app every day builds your Daily Streak, which pays out increasing rewards across a 7-day cycle. Missing a day resets the streak, so even a quick daily check-in is worthwhile.

Consistency over marathon sessions

Daily Streaks, hourly News limits, and recurring Earning Tools all reward regular daily use. Consistent short sessions tend to beat occasional long sessions.

Redeem your points

Once you have enough points, tap the Redeem tab to browse available rewards: gift cards, PayPal cash, Mystery Boxes, or Mode Mobile shares (availability varies by region). See How to Redeem Your Points.

Settings and account management

Access settings through the gear icon in the top right of the app. From there you can:

  • Update your account information (name, email, phone, address).
  • Toggle features on or off: Charge Screen, Lock Screen, night mode, notifications.
  • Link your PayPal account for direct cash payouts.
  • Contact Support if you need help.
