If your vested Mystery Boxes appear to be gone or missing, your Mystery Boxes and $EARNM rewards are still safe. They are linked to your previous Magic wallet, which is no longer supported by the Mode Earn App — but you have full control over them and two options for getting them back.
This article explains what happened, the two recovery options available to you, and what to do if you have already swapped your boxes.
What happened to my vested Mystery Boxes?
In August 2025, Mode upgraded the Mystery Box wallet system from Magic to Alchemy. The upgrade made Mystery Box reveals significantly more reliable. As part of the upgrade, your old Mystery Boxes moved out of the in-app wallet view but were not deleted. They still exist in your original Magic wallet, which you can continue to access until February 2027.
Your two options
Option 1: Export your old wallet (recommended if you have many vested boxes)
Choose this option if you want to keep your original Mystery Boxes and continue vesting your $EARNM in a personal crypto wallet such as MetaMask or Trust Wallet.
- Visit https://reveal.magic.link/earnm.
- Enter the email address you use for your Mode Earn App account.
- Follow the Magic instructions to reveal your private key. Save the private key somewhere safe — you will not be able to recover it later if lost.
- Open MetaMask (or another self-custody crypto wallet) and use the “Import wallet” option with your private key.
- Connect your newly imported wallet to the EARN’M dApp to continue vesting or cash out your $EARNM.

Option 2: Swap for new boxes (recommended if you only have a few vested boxes)
Choose this option if you prefer to stay entirely inside the Mode Earn App and do not want to handle crypto wallets.
- Open the Mode Earn App and go to the migration screen.
- Tap Swap.
- You receive 2× the same number of fresh Mystery Boxes plus 500 bonus points.
Note that swapped boxes are new and unvested — you will need to spend points to reveal them. If your old boxes were only lightly vested (for example, 10% vested), the swap path typically comes out ahead because of the 2× multiplier and bonus points.
I already swapped my boxes — did I lose my vested $EARNM?
No, you did not lose your vested $EARNM. Even if you chose the Swap option, your original Magic wallet still exists and still holds your vested rewards. You can use Option 1 above to export that wallet and recover the vested $EARNM until February 2027.
The swap path simply gave you new, fresh boxes plus bonus points to continue playing inside the app. It does not delete the original wallet or its contents.
I have not made a choice yet — why can’t I reveal new Mystery Boxes?
If you cannot reveal any new boxes, you have not completed the one-time migration. Open the Mode Earn App, choose either Export or Swap, and you will be able to reveal new boxes again immediately.
I tried to export but it did not work
- The export link at reveal.magic.link/earnm can be retried at any time — there is no limit on attempts.
- If you continue to have trouble, you can always choose Swap in the app instead.
- If neither works, contact Support through Settings → Ask for Support in the Mode Earn App.
