Mystery Boxes have two separate time limits you should know about: a short-term deadline for revealing new Mystery Box codes, and a long-term deadline for users who held Mystery Boxes before the August 2025 wallet upgrade.
Mystery Box code reveal: 60 days
You have 60 days from the time you receive a Mystery Box code to reveal it. After 60 days, the code expires and the Mystery Box cannot be recovered.
We recommend revealing as soon as possible because:
- You do not lose anything by revealing early. There is a small blockchain fee, but Mode covers most of it.
- Vesting starts at reveal. The sooner you reveal, the sooner your $EARNM begins vesting toward the 50% (6 months) and 100% (12 months) unlock milestones.
- Sweepstakes entries and music earning boost (where available in your region) are locked in when you reveal.
Pre-upgrade Mystery Box export: February 2027
If you had Mystery Boxes before the August 2025 wallet upgrade, your old boxes and any vested $EARNM are still stored in your original Magic wallet. You can export that wallet to a self-custody wallet such as MetaMask until February 2027.
After February 2027, the Magic wallet export link will no longer be available. If you do not export your old wallet by that date, you may permanently lose access to any pre-upgrade Mystery Boxes and vested $EARNM.

Which deadline applies to me?
- If you earned your Mystery Box code recently (after August 2025), only the 60-day reveal deadline applies. Reveal in the Mode Earn App.
- If you had Mystery Boxes before August 2025, the February 2027 export deadline also applies to your old wallet. Choose Export or Swap in the app to complete the one-time migration — see Your Mystery Boxes are Safe! An Important Wallet Upgrade.
