Once you’ve returned your Mode Earn Phone, this article explains how refunds are processed and what to do if yours hasn’t arrived in the expected timeframe.
Refund processing time
- Processing duration: refunds typically take 3–5 business days to process after Mode receives your returned device (or after approval if no return is required).

Reimbursement method: funds are returned to the original payment method used for the purchase.
- Credit/debit card purchases are refunded to the card.
- PayPal purchases are refunded to PayPal.
- Bank transfer purchases are refunded to the originating bank account.
Timeline expectations
From return to refund-in-hand:
- Shipping (variable): depending on your return method, 3–10 business days for Mode to receive your device.
- Inspection and approval: 1–3 business days after Mode receives the device.
- Refund processing: 3–5 business days for Mode to process.
- Bank posting: 1–5 additional business days depending on your bank or payment provider.
Total end-to-end: approximately 2–3 weeks from the day you ship the return until the refund appears in your account.
If you haven’t received your refund
If more than 5 business days have passed since Mode confirmed processing, check these in order:
1. Check with your payment provider
Banks and payment services sometimes hold refunds for additional processing time. Contact your bank or PayPal support and ask specifically about pending refunds from Mode Mobile. They may be able to see a pending credit that hasn’t posted yet.
2. Check the account used for the original purchase
Refunds go to the original payment method. If you used a card that has since been closed or replaced, the refund may have bounced. Contact your bank to trace it.
3. Verify the refund was processed
Check your email for a refund confirmation from Mode. The email should include a transaction ID you can reference.
4. Contact Mode Earn Support
If you still can’t locate the refund, email earn@modemobile.com with:
- Your order number.
- Date the return was shipped.
- Date Mode confirmed receipt.
- Original payment method used.
- Any refund confirmation emails you’ve received.
Common refund questions
Can I get a refund to a different payment method?
No. Refunds must go to the original payment method used for the purchase. This is a standard anti-fraud measure.
Can I convert a refund to Mode points?
Refund-to-points is not typically offered. Contact Mode Support if you have a specific situation.
What if my phone was a gift?
Refunds go to the original purchaser’s payment method, not the gift recipient. The purchaser needs to initiate the refund process.
What if I purchased through Amazon or Walmart?
