If you see an ad on your Lock Screen that’s inappropriate, misleading, or otherwise should not be shown, you can report it directly from the Lock Screen itself. This article walks through the five steps.
When to report an ad
Report ads that are:
- Inappropriate, offensive, or NSFW content.
- Misleading or making false claims.
- Potential scams or phishing.
- Technically broken (won’t close, redirects inappropriately, etc.).
Your reports help Mode maintain a clean advertising experience for all users.
How to report
Step 1: Find the report button
On the Lock Screen, look for three small dots in the top right corner. Tap them to open the menu.
Step 2: Select Report
Choose Report this Ad from the menu.
Step 3: Choose Email
When you see reporting options, select Email.
Step 4: Describe the issue
An email draft opens on your phone. In the body of the email, describe the problem with the ad. Useful details to include:
- What kind of ad it was (brand, image, or headline if you can remember).
- What was wrong with it (inappropriate content, misleading, broken, scam, etc.).
- Approximate time you saw it.
Step 5: Send the email
Send the email without changing the email address or subject line. These are pre-filled to route your report to the correct team for processing.
What happens after you report
- Mode’s ad operations team reviews each report.
- Ads that violate policy are removed or filtered.
- You may or may not receive a follow-up email — reports don’t always get individual responses, but every report is reviewed.
