If you had Mystery Boxes before the August 2025 wallet upgrade, your old boxes and any vested $EARNM are stored in your original wallet. This article explains the current status of the export process.
The wallet-export process is being migrated. The previous export page is no longer the correct route, and we are not asking anyone to follow the old steps. Please contact Support before attempting an export and we will give you the current steps for your account. Your boxes and vested $EARNM remain recorded against your original wallet in the meantime.
We will also confirm and publish the timing for any export deadline here. Please do not rely on a specific date until we have confirmed it.
What to do now
- Open the Mode Earn App.
- Go to Settings → Ask for Support.
- Tell us that you held Mystery Boxes before the August 2025 wallet upgrade and that you would like to export your original wallet.
- Include the email address on your Mode Earn App account.
Support will confirm the current process for you.
Security reminder:
- Mode Support will never ask you for a private key or a wallet recovery phrase. Anyone who does is attempting to steal your $EARNM.
- Never enter a private key or recovery phrase on a page you reached from a link in a message, an email or a social post.
- If you have already exported and saved a private key, keep it in a password manager or secure offline storage and do not share it with anyone.
Before you start
If you already hold a self-custody crypto wallet, that will be useful when the export route is confirmed. Common options include MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow and Exodus. You will also want a secure place to store keys, such as a password manager. Please wait for the confirmed steps from Support before importing anything.
What if I don't want to use a crypto wallet?
You can choose the Swap option in the Mode Earn App instead, which exchanges your old boxes for new ones plus 500 bonus points. You will not keep your original vested $EARNM through the Swap path. Can I move Mystery Boxes between wallets?
Mystery Boxes themselves can't be transferred between wallets — once revealed and added to a wallet, they stay there. However, you can manage where your $EARNM ends up:
- Reveal boxes in the wallet you want to use long-term.
- Withdraw $EARNM from your boxes once it's vested.
- Transfer the $EARNM to whichever crypto wallet you prefer to use.
So while the boxes are tied to a specific wallet, the underlying $EARNM is fully transferable once you withdraw it.
