This article covers how to update your payment method for an active Mode Earn Club (MEC) subscription — for example, if your card is expiring, you lost your card, or you want to switch to a different payment method.
Steps to update your payment method
Step 1: Contact Mode Earn Support
Send an email to earn@modemobile.com requesting a payment method update. Include:
- Your Mode Earn account email.
- Brief note that you want to update your payment method.
- Your MEC plan type if you know it (Max, Lite Monthly, Lite Quarterly, Lite Yearly).
Step 2: Receive a secure link
After your request is received, Mode sends a secure link via email. This link allows you to safely and conveniently update your payment information.
Security: only update your payment via the secure link from Mode. Never share payment details in email or chat. If you receive an unexpected “payment update” message that you didn’t request, do not click any links — verify with Mode Earn Support first.
Step 3: Update your payment details
Follow the instructions in the secure link to:
- Add a new credit/debit card.
- Modify an existing card’s details.
- Replace your current payment method with a different one.
Security and safety
- The process uses a secure, encrypted link processed through Stripe, Mode’s third-party payment processor.
- Mode Mobile does not directly store your bank account or full card information — it’s handled by Stripe.
- Your updated payment method is used for your next renewal.
Common scenarios
My card is about to expire
Request a payment method update before the expiration date to avoid a failed renewal. Failed renewals can result in temporary loss of MEC benefits until payment is updated.
My card was lost or stolen
Request an update immediately to avoid renewal attempts against the old card. Your bank’s fraud protection should block charges to the compromised card, but getting MEC updated is still important.
I want to switch payment methods
Follow the same process. You can switch between different credit/debit cards or prepaid cards using Stripe.
My renewal failed
If your renewal fails due to a declined card, Stripe attempts retry over a few days. If all attempts fail, your MEC benefits pause until payment is updated. Request a payment method update to restore benefits.
What if I want to stop payments entirely?
