Mode Points are stored securely in your account. This article covers what you need to know about point expiration, account inactivity, and how to redeem your points.
Key expiration rules:
- 1-year expiration: points are valid for 1 year from the date they are earned. Points not redeemed within 365 days expire.
- Account activity requirement: log in to the Mode Earn App at least once every 12 months. Accounts inactive for over a year may be closed and all points forfeited.
Keeping your points active
The 1-year expiration
Each batch of points you earn has its own 365-day expiration clock starting from the day you earned it. Points earned today expire one year from today. Redeem within that window or lose them.
Account inactivity
Even if individual points are within their 1-year window, your account itself must stay active:
- Log in to the Mode Earn App at least once every 12 months.
- Accounts inactive for over a year may be closed.
- Closing an account forfeits the entire point balance, regardless of individual point ages.
The simplest way to stay active is to log in briefly once a month.
How to redeem your points
Step 1: Set a reward goal
- Open the Mode Earn App and go to the Redeem tab.
- Browse available rewards: gift cards, products, crypto, and more.
- Choose an item that matches your point balance or one to save up for.
Step 2: Track your progress
Check your Mode Credit History in the app to see how close you are to your goal.
Step 3: Redeem when ready
- Once you have enough points, select your reward.
- Complete the redemption flow.
- For security, you may be prompted to complete a face verification step (a quick video selfie).
For full details on redemption options, see Understanding Redemption Options in the Mode Earn App.
Important rules
- All redemptions are final. Once you redeem, you cannot undo or get points back.
- Points cannot be transferred between accounts.
- Points cannot be exchanged for cash outside the official redemption options.
Planning for the future
After redeeming, you can set a new goal. Points earned today remain valid for a full year, giving you time to save up for larger rewards. A smart approach:
- Use older points first (those closer to expiring).
- Let newer points build toward bigger rewards.
- Check your Credit History every few months to see which points are nearing expiration.
