Earning Tools are utility apps you access through the Mode Earn App to earn points from everyday phone actions like locking your phone or cleaning storage. This article covers what they are, how to find them, how status and timers work, and what to do if points do not arrive.
What are Earning Tools?
Earning Tools are utility apps that reward you for regular, repeatable actions rather than one-time tasks. Examples include apps that lock your phone or specific apps, clean your phone’s storage, or perform other device utility functions.
Unlike offers (one-time completion) or games (per-minute earning), Earning Tools:
- Offer repeatable daily tasks.
- Often consist of multiple steps you can repeat several times per day.
- Reset every day at midnight in your local time zone.
Each Earning Tool has its own task structure and reward logic, but all provide recurring earning opportunities.
Where to find Earning Tools
- Open the Mode Earn App.
- On the Home screen, scroll down past your main earning cards.
- Look for the Earning Tools carousel.
- If multiple tools are available, swipe horizontally to browse.
If you do not see the Earning Tools section, it means either no Earning Tools are currently available for your account or region, or the feature has not yet been activated for your account.
Understanding status states
Each Earning Tool shows a status indicating your daily progress:

| Start | You have installed the app but have not started any tasks today. |
| X/Y (e.g., 2/5) | You are partway through today’s tasks. X = steps completed today. Y = total steps available today. |
| Checkmark | All tasks for the day are complete and all available rewards have been earned. |
| Progress bar | Visual indicator of how close you are to completing today’s tasks. |
The countdown timer
After you start an Earning Tool task and earn your first reward of the day, a countdown timer appears. The timer counts down to midnight in your local time zone.
The timer helps you see how much time you have left to complete remaining steps and earn additional points or bonus rewards for that day. It resets every day at midnight when tasks and rewards refresh.
How to install an Earning Tool
- Tap Install on an Earning Tool.
- You are redirected to the Google Play Store.
- Install the Earning Tool app from the Play Store.
- After installation, open the app at least once.
- Return to the Mode Earn App. The Earning Tool detail page automatically detects the installation.
After detection, the page updates to show available tasks, progress indicators, and how many points you can earn. Detection may take a short moment after you return to Mode.
Installed but still seeing “Install”?
If the Mode Earn App still shows Install after you installed the utility app:
- Confirm the app is fully installed on your device.
- Confirm you have opened the app at least once.
- Close and reopen the Mode Earn App.
- Wait a few moments for refresh detection.
- If needed, restart your phone and open Mode again.
If the issue continues, contact Support with the app name and a brief description of the problem.
How to earn points with Earning Tools
Each Earning Tool has its own rules, but in general you complete simple, repeatable tasks multiple times per day. Depending on the app, you may earn points for each step completed, or earn points after completing all steps in the daily task flow.
Rewards reset daily, usually at midnight local time. Your region and usage patterns may affect which Earning Tools are available and how many points you can earn per day.

I completed a task but did not receive points
If you do not see points after completing an Earning Tool task:
- Check task completion. Make sure you completed all required steps. Confirm the app shows the correct status (step completed or checkmark).
- Check the countdown timer. Ensure the daily timer has not reset (midnight local time). If it reset, you may be viewing a new day’s status.
- Refresh the Mode Earn App. Close and reopen the app, then reopen the Earning Tool detail page.
If points still do not appear, contact Support with:
- The name of the Earning Tool app.
- The task you completed.
- The approximate date and time you completed the task.
- Any screenshots you can provide.
Support will review whether the reward was tracked.
