Eligibility
To qualify for the $5 cashback:
- US residency: only MEC members in the United States are eligible.
- 45-day membership: you must be an active MEC member for at least 45 days before claiming.
- Account in good standing: no suspension, active subscription, no payment issues.
How to claim your $5 cashback
Step 1: Wait for notification
After 45 days of membership, Mode will send you:
- An email notification, and/or
- A push notification in the Mode Earn App.
The notification indicates your cashback reward is available.
Step 2: Open the Redeem tab
- Open the Mode Earn App.
- Tap Redeem at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3: Find and redeem the cashback
- Look for the $5 cashback item in the Redeem list.
- Tap it to start the redemption.
- The redemption requires 0 points — unlike other rewards, this is free.
- Confirm the redemption.
- It processes like any other reward in the app.
Common questions
Does the $5 cashback go to my bank or in-app balance?
The cashback is processed through the Mode Earn App redemption system — similar to how other cash rewards work. Check the Redeem item details before completing the redemption to see the payout method (PayPal, Prepaid Mastercard, etc.).
What if I don’t see the $5 cashback option after 45 days?
If you’ve been a member for 45+ days and don’t see the option:
- Make sure you’re in the US (the benefit is US-only).
- Make sure your account is in good standing.
- Update the Mode Earn App to the latest version.
- Contact Mode Earn Support via the in-app chatbot.
Can I claim the cashback multiple times?
The $5 cashback is a one-time benefit per member.
What if I cancel my subscription?
If you cancel before the 45-day threshold, you don’t qualify for the cashback. If you’ve already claimed it and then cancel, the cashback is already yours.
Is there a deadline to claim?
