If your music is playing but you're not earning points, it almost always means your Time Bank is empty. This article explains why earnings stop, how to confirm it, and how to start earning again.

Why your music earnings stop
The Mode Earn App rewards you for listening time using a Time Bank — a pool of minutes that ticks down as you listen. When the bank reaches zero, music continues to play normally but points stop accruing.
Your music earning rate (the points-per-minute you receive while earning) is fixed and never changes. Earnings drop to zero only when there are no minutes left in your Time Bank for the rate to apply to.
How to check your Time Bank
- Open the Mode Earn App.
- Go to the Music tab.
- Look at the Earning Bar at the top of the screen — it shows your remaining Time Bank.
If the bar shows 0:00 or appears empty, that's why music isn't earning points right now.
How to start earning again
You have a few ways to refill your Time Bank:
- Wait for your daily Time Bank refresh. Each day you receive a fresh allocation of music listening time.
- Complete Boosters. Many Boosters add minutes to your Time Bank so you can keep earning.
- Use other earning features. Offers, Games, Surveys, and the Lock Screen all earn points independently of your music Time Bank.
Other things to check
Time Bank is the most common cause, but if your bank still has minutes left and you're still not earning, try these troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure music is actually playing — paused or muted music does not earn.
- Confirm you're in the Mode Earn App's Music tab — listening through other music apps does not earn Mode points.
- Check your internet connection — a poor connection can interrupt earning tracking.
- Restart the app — close it fully and reopen it. This refreshes your earning session.
- Update the app — make sure you're on the latest version from the Play Store.
