Your daily earnings from the Lock Screen feature can vary from one day to the next — even if you use your phone the same way both days. This is normal. Here is why it happens and what you can do about it.
Why your Lock Screen earnings vary
Phone usage patterns
Lock Screen earnings are based partly on how often you wake your phone throughout the day. More wake-ups = more Lock Screen views = more opportunities to earn. Days when you use your phone less naturally earn less.
Advertising availability
Lock Screen rewards come from advertisers. The pool of available ads in your region fluctuates day-to-day:
- Weekends vs weekdays typically have different advertising activity.
- Major shopping seasons (holidays, back-to-school) usually have more ads available.
- Quiet news periods can have fewer ads available.
Regional factors
Available ads depend on your location. Certain campaigns are only offered in specific regions, so your Lock Screen earnings may differ significantly from someone using the app in another country.
What you can do to maximize Lock Screen earnings
On Android: keep using your phone normally
The Lock Screen feature is designed to earn you points as a byproduct of how you already use your phone. Do not change your behavior to try to “game” it. In particular:
- Do not force-wake your phone repeatedly to accumulate views — the system detects and discounts artificial usage.
- Do not disable auto-lock to keep the Lock Screen visible constantly — this does not increase earnings.
- Simply use your phone as you normally would throughout the day.
On iOS
The Lock Screen feature operates differently on iOS due to platform restrictions. iOS users typically see more limited Lock Screen earning than Android users regardless of usage patterns.
If your earnings drop significantly
If your Lock Screen earnings drop substantially and stay low for several days in a row, there may be a technical issue. See Troubleshooting Charge Screen or Lock Screen Issues.
