Metro by T-Mobile (formerly MetroPCS) is a prepaid wireless service provider. If you want to use your Metro SIM card with the Mode Earn Phone, follow the steps below to ensure a smooth transition.
Understanding Metro's Device Policy
Metro requires customers to notify them when changing devices. Although Metro may suggest that the Mode Earn Phone is unsupported, it is fully compatible with Metro's GSM, 3G, and 4G LTE bands.
How to Connect Your Metro SIM Card
Option 1: Visit a Metro Store
- Find a Metro Store: Go to any Metro location.
- Request an IMEI Update: Ask for an IMEI update for your Mode Earn Phone. You will need:
- Your Metro phone number
- Your account PIN
- The IMEI number of your Mode Earn Phone (you can use either IMEI 1 or IMEI 2).
- Insert the SIM Card: If you provide IMEI 1, insert the Metro SIM into Slot 1.
Note: Metro stores may charge a fee of $15 - $20 for this service. This fee varies by store and is not covered by Mode Earn Phone.
Option 2: Call Metro's Automated Service
- Prepare Your Old Phone: Insert your Metro SIM card into your old phone.
- *Dial 228: This will connect you to Metro's automated service.
- Follow the Prompts: You will need to provide:
- Your current Metro phone number (you can obtain it by dialling #686#)
- Your 8-digit security PIN
- Either IMEI 1 or IMEI 2 of the Mode Earn Phone.
Note:
- The Mode Earn Phone is dual SIM, so you only need to provide one IMEI number.
- You may need to choose a new pricing plan during the call.
- Do not hang up until the system confirms that your device is set up.
- It may take a few hours for your phone to start working properly.
By following these steps, you can successfully connect your Metro SIM card to the Mode Earn Phone. If you need further assistance, please email us at earn@modemobile.com.
