Before you can redeem your points within the Mode Earn App, you need to go through a quick verification process to prove you are a real person.
You will be prompted to complete this when you go to the Redeem Tab in our app. Simply follow the steps on screen to take an image of your face!
Here are some tips to ensure success:
- Lighting: Ensure you are in a well-lit area so the camera can clearly capture your face.
- Camera Alignment: Position your face within the oval shape shown on the screen.
- Avoid Obstructions: Do not wear sunglasses, masks, or any other items that cover your face.
- Camera Access: Confirm that the app has permission to use your camera.
- Camera Functionality: Verify that your front-facing camera is working correctly.
If you are unsuccessful in our in-app verification, you will be prompted to contact us or receive an email from our second verifications partner for an alternative method.
Here are some tips to ensure you are successful:
- Use Your Full Legal Name
Make sure the name you use during registration matches the name exactly as it appears on your ID. Avoid using nicknames, and double-check the spelling to ensure accuracy.
-
Ensure Good Lighting
Good lighting is key to a successful facial verification. Avoid dark rooms and background light that could obscure your face. Position yourself in a well-lit area with light in front of you (not behind). If your picture is blurry or too dark, you can retake it by clicking the "Retake" button.
-
Be Quick, But Don’t Rush
You have up to 10 minutes to complete your verification, so there’s no need to hurry. Make sure you have your ID document ready, follow the instructions step by step, and take your time.
-
Use a Good Camera and Internet Connection
A poor camera or weak internet connection can cause verification failures. If you have a high-end device but still encounter issues, check if your camera lens is clean. Also, ensure you have a stable internet connection, and avoid refreshing your browser during the verification process.
-
Complete the Verification on Your Own
For security reasons, it’s best to complete the verification process independently. Having someone else assist or coerce you can result in a failed verification. This helps protect your personal information and ensures a more secure process.
-
Have a Valid ID
Make sure your ID is valid and undamaged. Mode accepts various types of ID documents, including passports, ID cards, driver’s licenses, and residence permits. Your ID should not be expired, bent, torn, or heavily marked.
-
Choose the Right Document Type
Be sure to select the correct ID type during the verification process. For ID cards and residence permits, you’ll need to capture both sides. For passports, take a picture of the page containing your personal details and photo, including the machine-readable zone (MRZ) at the bottom of the page.
-
Capture Passport Carefully
If you are using a passport, make sure to photograph the main page that includes your photo, name, date of birth, and passport number. Be sure the entire page, including the MRZ, is visible.
-
Take a Picture of Both Sides (if required)
For ID cards or residence permits, be sure to capture both the front and back of the document. This ensures that all necessary information is visible.
-
Take Sharp, Clear Photos
Ensure your photo is sharp and free of blurriness. Make sure no fingers or light reflections obscure the text or images on your ID. Your ID should fit inside the white frame with all edges visible.
By following these tips, you can help ensure a smooth and successful facial verification process. If you encounter any issues, please contact Mode Earn Support either through the app or on the web.
