If your Mode Earn Phone can’t connect to the internet, the issue is usually one of three things: no active data plan, incorrect APN settings, or a carrier network problem. This article walks through each.
Quick check: Wi-Fi vs. mobile data
First, isolate the issue:
- If Wi-Fi works but mobile data doesn’t: the issue is with your carrier’s mobile data (plan or APN). Follow the steps below.
- If neither works: check Airplane Mode is off, restart the phone, and try again.
- If only Wi-Fi doesn’t work: check your Wi-Fi router, try another network, or forget and re-add the Wi-Fi network.
Step 1: Check your mobile data plan
- Contact your mobile service provider.
- Confirm that your account includes an active mobile data plan (some prepaid plans are voice/text only).
- Verify mobile data is enabled on your account.
Also make sure mobile data is turned on in your phone:
- Pull down the notification shade.
- Tap the Mobile Data quick-toggle to ensure it’s on.
Step 2: Verify APN (Access Point Name) settings
The APN configuration is what lets your phone connect to your carrier’s mobile network. Incorrect APN settings are the most common cause of connectivity issues after setup.
How to check your APN
- Open Settings.
- Go to Network & Internet → Mobile Network → Advanced → Access Point Names.
- Compare the current APN values with your carrier’s official settings.
How to find the right APN settings
Visit your carrier’s official support website and search for:
- "[your carrier] APN settings"
For example: "T-Mobile APN settings," "AT&T APN settings," or "Mint Mobile APN settings."
How to update APN settings
- In Access Point Names, tap + (or Add APN).
- Enter the values exactly as shown on your carrier’s support page (name, APN, proxy, MMSC, etc.).
- Save the new APN.
- Select the new APN to make it active.
- Restart your Mode Earn Phone to apply the changes.
For full APN setup walkthrough, see How to Fix “No Service” or Missing Signal on the Mode Earn Phone.
Step 3: If APN is correct
- Restart your phone to refresh network connections.
- Test your SIM card in another device to confirm if the issue is with the SIM or the phone.
- Contact your carrier to confirm there are no service outages in your area.
- Confirm band compatibility. See Mode Earn Phone Network Compatibility Guide.
Still not working?
If your Mode Earn Phone still can’t connect after all the above, email earn@modemobile.com with:
